Despite the challenging climate for energy, especially renewables, in our country right now, I am extremely motivated by the opportunities that I see across all energy sectors.

As a new employee of RLC Engineering, and with over 25 years of renewable energy commercial development in the US and international markets, I recognize that through collaboration and partnership, now is an opportune time to deliver successful solutions to our energy sectors.

Today, our clients are facing a unique combination of challenges. Unprecedented load growth, driven by AI data centers, industrial onshoring, and vehicle electrification, is placing new demands on the electric grid. At the same time, aging infrastructure and the continued, record-breaking growth of renewable generation are creating planning interconnection and reliability considerations.

Yet these changes also present tremendous opportunities.

Renewable energy installations in 2026 are setting historic records, with developers projected to install an unprecedented 86 GW of capacity—shattering the 53 GW record set in 2025. Utilities are equally experiencing an historic surge, one that requires up to $1.4 trillion in infrastructure investment over the coming years.  The U.S. power sector transformation that is happening right now is an ongoing, multi-trillion-dollar shift from a centralized, fossil-fuel-dominated electrical grid to a decentralized, digitized, and decarbonized system.

As these challenges accelerate, the need for thoughtful planning and engineering has never been greater. Whether supporting renewable energy integration, transmission and distribution planning, battery storage projects, grid modernization initiatives, or power system studies, successful outcomes depend on having experienced partners who understand the complexities of today’s evolving grid.

Because RLC Engineering specializes in being grid experts, we help our clients navigate these challenges with reliable engineering, practical solutions, and a commitment to quality.

I look forward to seeing firsthand as RLC Engineering collaborates with clients on these new challenges and provides reliable, innovative engineering solutions through quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service across the markets.

Let’s get after it together!

I also want to personally welcome partners, customers, employees, and friends of RLC Engineering to our first of many informational and educational blogs. Tune in for more!
