CADD Technician/Draftsperson


We’re looking for a CAD Technician/Draftsperson to join our team in Hallowell!

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Work closely with senior design engineers to develop electrical drawings using AutoCAD or Microstation.
  2. Shall be familiar with the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in ONE or more of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, or PLS CADD.
  3. Shall maintain a working knowledge of internal and external CADD standards and the drawing database
  4. Revise or prepare drawings (CADD and manual) with neatness and a minimum of errors.
  5. Assist in the gathering of survey information and the development of plans and maps from field notes.
  6. Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying and scanning of drawings, prints and maps.
  7. Assist in the acquisition of on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
  8. Generate drawing transmittals as may be required.
  9. Maintain accurate drawing records by entering and maintaining drawing database information.
  10. Self check all work and check the work of others as required.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.


  1. Associates Degree in an Engineering Discipline with AutoCad classes included in course study. AutoCAD certification preferred.  Job related experience working with AutoCad preferred.
  2. Highly proficient in AutoCAD (experience with 3D platforms a plus).
  3. Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail on time and within budget.
  4. Team oriented and willing to put in the time and effort necessary to see a project through to successful completion.
  5. Proficient in MS Office programs.
  6. Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
  7. Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  8. Must be able to use computer keyboard and focus attention to PC monitor for prolonged periods.
  9. Ability to operate and maintain CAD equipment, plotter and other drawing reproduction equipment.
  10. Utility work related experience preferred.  Understanding of New England Utility CAD standards and ability to implement is a plus.
